❌ Prohibited Grid Trading Strategies

Here are the types of grid trading that are strictly not permitted:

1. Counter-Trend Grid Trading (Averaging Down/Up)

You are not allowed to open new positions as the market moves against you. For example:

  • You open a sell position.

  • The price rises a certain number of pips → you open another sell.

  • The price continues to rise → you continue adding sell positions.

This same rule applies to buy positions:

  • You open a buy position.

  • The price drops → you open another buy.

  • The price keeps dropping → you keep adding buys.

👉 This strategy involves excessive risk and does not reflect a professional approach. Relying on the market to eventually reverse is not a valid justification and goes against our consistency and risk standards.

2. Classic Neutral Grid (Non-Directional)

We also do not allow strategies where:

  • Buy and sell orders are placed every few pips in both directions, with no clear directional bias.

  • The goal is to profit from any price movement, regardless of market structure or trend.

👉 This approach lacks technical justification and often resembles gambling in sideways markets, rather than a disciplined strategy.

✅ What Is Allowed?

✔️ Adding Positions to a Winning Trade

We do allow traders to add positions to an already profitable setup. For example:

  • You are in profit on a trade and the market gives a retracement in your favor.

  • You open an additional position aligned with your initial bias and trading plan.

✅ This practice is common in professional strategies and is acceptable as long as you maintain proper risk management and trading discipline.

📌 Important Reminder

Our system actively monitors accounts for prohibited grid behavior.
Any account found violating this policy may be disqualified automatically, even during the evaluation phase.

At PIP Traders Funding LLC, we are building a team of serious, consistent traders. If you are ever unsure whether your strategy is permitted, please contact our team before executing trades.
